We are currently working on the following material for the week of May 14, 2012:
Unit Title: Catalyst books
Objective:
To practice reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills.
To continue practicing the double entry journal process.
Procedure: 1) Students will review, discuss, and take notes on what they have read so far in the novel. 2) Students will continue reading, discussing, and taking notes on Catalyst. 3) As they read, they will write down quotes or sections of the book that appealed to them. 4) They will then write about these quotes and sections by using text to self, text to text, or text to world. 5) Students will also work on spelling, specifically the “I before E except after C rule.” They will also review the Charlie Brown episode that goes over this rule.
