We are currently working on the following material for the week of April 30th, 2012:
Essential Questions: How can we reinforce our skills in fractions? How do we recognize a parallelogram, a rectangle, a square, a rhombus, a trapezoid, and an isosceles trapezoid? How do we find the area and perimeter of polygons.
Materials needed: p. 196-215 Geometry Text plus correlating workbook and teacher resource binder reinforcements, Globe Fearon Fractions workbook, calculators, mult./div. tables, compasses, fraction manipulatives, p. 12-17 from “High Interest Geometry” pentagon, hexagon, octagon, decagon, dodecagon. p. 31, 35-40 “Geometry Made Simple” quadiraderals, parallelograms, rhombus, rectangles, squares. p. 33-36 “Glenco Geometry” parallelograms, rectangles, squares and rhombi. P. 44-54 “Geometry Crosswords” polygons, trapezoids, quadrilaterals.
Homework: Homework will be given 2 times per week from workbook, teacher resource binder or related hand-outs. Students will be required to photograph or draw a pattern or design in their home, yard or neighborhood.
Students will be given a test on Chapter 7 from the textbook.
