We are currently working on the following material for the week of April 30th, 2012:
MIR Programs (Woodworking, Project Room, Culinary ) are working together in groups finishing many exciting projects. In woodworking, students used a chop saw and nail gun to put a box or shelf together. They also used a can of spray paint to finish their project. Many hands-on projects are being done in the project room. Besides using the Xerox copier, book binding, and dye-cut machines for the office work component, the students will be designing logos to be used to make mugs and aprons on our heat press and sublimation machines. Silk screening will also be done to make a variety of designs for other various projects. The culinary program is teaching basic cooking techniques in both sweet and savory dishes. Some students also participate in baking for the MIR Café where baked goods are sold to staff on a weekly basis.
