    Arts

At Montgomery Academy creativity doesn’t begin and end in just the art room. It encompasses every other subject of the school, making the learning experience into something quite unique for each individual student.

Traditional art subjects such as painting, drawing, sculpture, art history, and printmaking are combined with academic subjects such as social studies, math and science. The possibilities in the classroom are endless. For example a student can create an abstract painting using geometric shapes for math or sculpt the anatomy of an animal for their science project. This cross-curriculum method of teaching enhances our students’ cognitive and creative intelligences in an engaging and fun learning environment.

Our music program focuses on interdisciplinary methods with an assortment of projects designed to immerse students in various genres of Western and global music. By blending lessons with an array of multimedia resources, students are inspired to listen to and gain a deeper appreciation of the music of different cultures. Music and its connection with different disciplines and peoples is infused throughout Montgomery Academy classrooms while its unifying power is demonstrated through song, dance, instruments and performance.
